Private Loans in France

Logo Banque Populaire Rives de Paris

AGS has signed a partnership agreement with Banque Populaire Rives de Paris which enables students of all nationalities under the age of 28 to be eligible for student loans in France.

Three types of loans are offered:

  • Regular student bank loans up to € 21,500.
Unless the student has a good credit record in France, a parent guarantee may be requested.

  • Government backed loans, without parent guarantee, up to € 15,000.

  • Loans backed by LMDE (La Mutuelle Des Etudiants) up to € 21,500, with no parent guarantee, at a preferential rate. LMDE can also guarantee rent deposits. The student must be affiliated to LMDE for his/her health insurance (Sécurité sociale and/or complementary insurance).

More about LMDE

How to proceed

Students interested in these loans must speak to the school's financial aid officer once they are enrolled in a program and have arrived in France. He will put them in contact with a Banque Populaire branch.

Thanks to our partnership, AGS students will receive preferential treatment, yet we must emphasize that students do not rely solely on these loans in their decision to attend a program: they are in no way automatically granted; the student has to enroll in the program and then apply in person at the bank.
