French Language Course Options |
|
While pursuing one of the programs at the American Graduate School in Paris, students have the opportunity to take French language courses to make the most of the full immersion already provided by the Paris location of the school. Courses are offered through AGS's world-renowned partner institution Alliance Française, located in the same building. AGS students receive a 12% discount on regular Alliance Française rates. There are numerous course options depending on the level, scheduling constraints, and learning objectives of each student. See options here. Students are assessed on their level of French upon enrollment in order to determine the classes that are best suited to their level according to the ALTE level scale. At the end of their French language coursework, students have the opportunity to obtain a diploma of French Language Studies recognized in France and throughout Europe (DELF - Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française). More information here. Note: While AGS encourages students to take advantage of their presence in Paris to learn or improve their French, there is no requirement to speak French to attend any of the programs at AGS. However, in the case of the Master's and Ph.D. programs in International Relations and Diplomacy, students are required to have an intermediate level of French in order to graduate. Students enrolled in one of these degree programs at the School of International Relations and Diplomacy are proposed a special course package to help them meet the French language graduation requirement. More information here. The other programs at AGS do not have a French language graduation requirement. |
