Dual Programs at AGS

The American Graduate School in Paris offers a number of dual degree programs whereby students may earn two degrees through combined curricula with partner institutions. Some of these dual programs take place entirely in the Paris area, while others involve some time in the US.

Dual Program in International Relations and Diplomacy / Diplomacy and Strategic Negotiation

An American M.A. and a European Master's Degree in Two Years

While working towards their Master's degree in International Relations and Diplomacy at AGS, students may take additional courses at partner institution Université Paris Sud 11 and earn two Master's degrees in two years:

  • A U.S.-accredited M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy from AGS

  • A Europe-accredited Master's degree in Diplomacy and Strategic Negotiation from UPS 11

This dual program takes place entirely in France, in the Paris area. It requires having an intermediate level of French language by the beginning of the second year of the program in order to follow the courses in Diplomacy and Strategic Negotiation.

Dual Program in International Relations and Diplomacy / International Law

An American M.A. and a European LL.M. in Three Years

Thanks to a partnership with Université de Cergy-Pontoise, students who successfully complete the International Relations and Diplomacy Master's program and take an additional four preparatory courses in International Law at AGS, may go on to pursue a one-year LL.M. program in French and European Union Law at the Cergy-Pontoise Law School, and earn two degrees in three years:

  • A U.S.-accredited M.A. (Master of Arts) in International Relations and Diplomacy from AGS

  • A Europe-accredited LL.M. (Master of Laws) in French and European Union Law from Université de Cergy-Pontoise in one of two specializations: Law and Business Ethics, or Business and Taxation Law.

This dual program takes place entirely in France, in the Paris area. Both portions of the program are instructed in English and therefore none of them requires any knowledge of French language for admission. However please note that an intermediate level of French is required in order to graduate with the M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy from AGS.

Dual Program in International Relations and Diplomacy / International Peace and Conlict Resolution

Two American M.A. Degrees in Three Years

AGS and Arcadia University jointly offer an accelerated Dual Masters program where students spend three semesters in Paris, France, at AGS, and three semesters in the United States, at Arcadia University, in the greater Philadelphia area, and earn two American Masters degrees:

  • A US-accredited Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy from AGS

  • A US-accredited Master of Arts in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from Arcadia University

Each program followed individually normally extends over two years, which would make a total of four years to earn the two degrees separately. Thanks to curricula combinations, the accelerated dual program allows students to earn both degrees in three years.

Both portions of the program are instructed in English and therefore none of them requires any knowledge of French language for admission. However please note that an intermediate level of French is required in order to graduate with the M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy from AGS.
