Tuesday, 29 January 2008 |
On June 5th, 2008, the annual AGSIRD graduation ceremony will take place in Paris in the French Senate. The commencement speaker this year will be European Deputy and former French Prime Minister Michel Rocard. In the past years, the commencement address has been delivered by the Arab League Ambassador to UNESCO, H.E. Nassif Hitti; Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and editorial page editor for the International Herald Tribune, Serge Schmemann; and former French Prime Minister, Alain Juppé, to name just a few. Like every year, this year's graduating class is very international, with graduates from the United States, Brazil, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Morocco, and India. |

Stefan De Las Trinidad and Tobago AGS brought me closer to the world, and to those multinational perspectives that always tended to evade a simple islander. My own ideals were tested and defended on a daily basis, as I was challenged by almost everyone, from German, Russian and Ghanaian classmates to Ambassadors and professors, who have time and again embraced the practical and academic realms of life. Paris' hard-knock life style, AGS' academic structure and my own drive to succeed have definitely provided me with the foundation to give working life the pursuit it deserves. |
